Myself and my brother were very concerned for our mother being on her own as we all live in different parts of the country.
Our concern was mum may have a fall or be taken ill and not be able to reach the phone for help, and if she could it would be hours before we could get to her.
From my first phone call you were so helpful and understanding. You sent out a booklet which I showed to mum and she decided she would like a demonstration which was arranged for the next day.
The demonstration was carried out with all our questions answered fully by your excellent staff.
Mum felt she would be reassured to have a Helpline installed. This was carried out the same day: The Alarm Base Unit was placed in the hall and two key safe's (optional extras) fitted by the two outer doors in case of emergency.
We would like to thank you for your excellent service. We now feel comforted and reassured mum has help at hand if needed.

The reason I had an alarm was because I had become rather unsteady and had been in hospital. My son set it up to give me confidence that I could get help if I had another fall or was unwell. Also it meant he had peace of mind.

I had to use my button the other night when I fell out of bed and hit my head. I couldn't get up, or reach the telephone, so I pressed my Helpline Button which was around my neck and spoke through the air to your emergency operator who immediately called an ambulance for me.
The paramedics were with me within a few minutes. They got in by using the key safe (optional extra) you put up outside. I was quite battered and bruised so I had to go to hospital. By the time my son arrived, who you had alerted, I was being wheeled down the path to the ambulance.
I spent ten days in hospital, the food was good but it was very noisy, and they woke me up too early!
I am now home again and my family are so pleased that I have the Helpline Alarm, goodness knows what would have happened if I hadn't had your button.

Mother had a serious fall the other night, she fell out of bed and knocked her head. She pressed her button and the paramedics were there within minutes. The Helpline operator called me and by the time I arrived, mother was being wheeled down the path into the ambulance. She spent ten days in hospital and is now home again recovering.
I am so glad mother has her Helpline Alarm. If she hadn't had it, she might have been on the floor all night and the consequences of that don't bear thinking about.

Recommendation Letter for Helpline Personal Alarm Service
My mother moved up to London four years ago to be nearer to her children and grandchildren. She lives round the corner from my house in Ealing. She lives independently but was a little anxious because she occasionally felt her balance was not good and she was worried about slipping in the shower.
We got a Helpline Personal Alarm for her about three years ago. She was initially reluctant to use one because she had had one before from another company which kept being activated accidentally which she found very annoying. However she soon got used to wearing the Helpline Alarm around her neck both day and night and it has never been activated accidentally.
She has in fact had to use it on a couple of occasions when she has fallen. Fortunately neither were bad falls. Once she fell after trying to get up from her chair and could not lift herself from the floor and on another occasion she fell at night whilst getting ready for bed and again could not get herself up. On both occasions she pressed her Helpline Alarm, I was telephoned by a calm and polite operator, and was able to go round within five minutes to help my mother.
The Alarm gives both my mother and myself peace of mind, knowing that should she get into difficulties and is unable to get to the phone, she can just press her Alarm and I will be called. It gives her confidence and allows her to continue living independently and happily.

I am so pleased to now have a Helpline Personal Alarm as once I fall I cannot get up very easily owing to my balance troubles and it is so reassuring to know that if I need help I can just press the Button on my medallion and you would be able to help me.
My relatives live in Surrey and the North of England so it has given us all peace of mind. My friends who are the key holders are all willing to help but appreciate my independence. When one lives entirely alone it is so good to know the service provides personal security against burglars or intruders in these dishonest times.
Fortunately I have not had any occasion to call for help. It is good to have the monthly check from your engineer to make sure the system is working properly.

I decided to investigate Helpline when the houses either side of me were both unoccupied and I felt isolated. I have osteoarthritis and if I fell it would be difficult if not impossible for me to get up without help.

My reason on the decision to have a Helpline Personal Alarm was due to an accident which involved a hospital stay. This left me rather shaky on my legs resulting in several falls.
I felt the alarm would be invaluable because I live alone and might not have been able to summon help from a neighbour.
It is also very helpful having such a long range on the alarm, as in fine weather I am in the garden and generally there are no neighbours in calling distance as they lead busy lives.
It does make one feel safe because there is always someone available at the press of a button. I am glad I invested in a Helpline Personal Alarm because I feel help is always available should I need it.
It's the peace of mind afforded by having it and no worries should I feel unwell and no neighbours around. Also key holders (family & otherwise) would know I was ill or hospitalized.

Helpline gives me peace of mind as I press the button at any one time, they answer wherever you are in the house or garden and cannot move.
You can wear the button anywhere in the house including the bathroom. If you do not know the person at the door or have intruders you just press the button and the team will help you.
I like the Key Safe outside the front door as it holds the spare key. When Helpline have to call an emergency service, they can get in without any trouble by being given the code to the Key Safe which only you and Helpline know so that they can get the key. Also handy if you lock yourself out - there's a spare key!
As my daughter works and lives in the North of England, it gives her peace of mind. Helpline will also contact my daughter so she knows what's going on. I have not had to use the Helpline but am confident it will be successful.
I live on my own. It's nice to know that there is someone at the other end.

In December 2009, with my 81st birthday approaching, I fell three times in succession in my two bedroom house of which I am the sole occupant. On the first two occasions I was able to regain my footing by hauling myself up on furniture and the staircase. The third time I failed and, exhausted, managed to telephone an elderly neighbour who came round.
These alarming events prompted me to seek advice from a health advisor with whom I have had contact through my voluntary work. On her advice I telephoned your office and after agreeing terms shortly received a visit from a clearly competent and very pleasant engineer who installed my equipment in a matter of hours, including a necklace Call Button which I now wear throughout the day and night. I particularly welcome its presence when showering, when I feel most vulnerable.

I would like to talk about the reason that I have Helpline.
About 12 years ago, my wife had a stroke. She was in the lounge and the phone was only 5 or 6 yards away and she couldn't get to it. When she had her stroke at 7.30 in the morning, she collapsed on the floor and was still there when I came home from work at 6.00 in the evening.
Had she had Helpline then she would have been in a much better condition. However 2 years ago she had a fatal stroke, before I knew about Helpline. After she passed away I was sat in the lounge chair, and I had a nerve go in my groin which affected my leg. I couldn't get out of the chair from 10.30pm until 2.30 in the morning to get to the phone for a doctor.
As soon as I heard about Helpline I decided to have it. Especially living on my own now, I think it is essential.

1. At the initial enquiry stage, your contact details were easily accessible and the subsequent first contact conversation was made very easy by your staff and seemed very transparent.
2. The follow up call was right on the appointment time and was very pleasantly and informatively conducted with absolutely no pressure to buy at all.
3. Knowing a good product when it was professionally presented - a contract was immediately agreed and the first parts of the installation were completed on the day. The remainder quickly followed.
4. It was really a case of first impressions are often right and there have been no regrets since, and I do not foresee any at this point.
5. The monthly check call is always greeted with a friendly reassuring voice and any line faults are quickly recognised and checked out in a very efficient manner.
6. It would be fair to say that there are other similar organisations supplying similar products but I would challenge them to meet the high standard set by HELPLINE.

My reason for having the Helpline Personal Alarm was to have someone there should I fall or injure myself, who can get hold of my key holders as soon as possible. Knowing I have peace of mind that there is someone there 24/7 throughout the year.
Cost is very small considering the benefit of protection, in the garden, security against intruders or unwelcome callers who try to sell you something you don't want.
Emergency Response Centre Staff are always polite and ask if there is anything they can do. For example, I had to change one of my key holders address and phone number. No problem in getting it sorted out.
You can tuck the alarm button away anywhere, no need to have it visible.
I would not hesitate to recommend Helpline to people with disabilities.

First I want to say thank you for the manner in which the service and politeness of your staff could not be faulted.
The reason I chose Helpline was the cost which I found to be very reasonable, also the peace of mind which it has given me.
I am terminal with lung disease, also at 76 years of age I find it very hard to walk very far, I am not worried if I have a fall or something more serious because I know I am only to press my button whether I am in the house or in the garden and help will be with me.
My family are less concerned as they know they will be told as soon as possible.
It is also a comfort to know if you take a shower you are still able to use you button as it is both waterproof and discreet.
Once again may I say how much it means to know you are always available 24/7.

Several times I've fallen down in the garden and being 83 years old and disabled I have difficulty getting up from a fall without a family, except my wife who suffers with arthritis and cannot help.
It was a serious worry then. Now, since joining Helpline, I have found contentment and relief in knowing that help in many forms is only a telephone call away, and suggest all elderly people should be aware of this service.

Just a line to say how pleased I am when I decided to have the Helpline Personal Alarm.
It has certainly given me more confidence to do things around my house and garden, knowing if I should fall, I have someone at the other end and they can get help to me quickly.

My first awakening to the necessity of having some form of personal alarm system was the finding of my next door neighbour, a lady of some 80 years who lived alone, in her garden where she could have lain for days if I had not seen her. Up till that time I had only carried a mobile phone in my apron pocket, a useless implement in the event of an emergency.
The immediate response by qualified people simply by pressing the Helpline Button gave me a personal peace of mind, and my husband who is frequently away from home.
The operational distance from the control unit is a further reassurance of help whatever the emergency and the regular checking of the correct operation by the Helpline staff is a further factor in ensuring peace of mind for all concerned.

I would confirm that the installation of Helpline has provided a positive assurance that help is always readily accessible for my wife who, in addition to medical problems, also suffers from immobility.
Previous to installation of Helpline the only thing available to her was a mobile phone which is hard enough to operate in normal circumstances leave alone in an emergency created by a fall, a medical condition or the breaking in by some intruder.
As I am frequently away from home for some extended period the assurance provided by Helpline is extremely reassuring.

Why I have Helpline?
It helps the family to know there is someone else able to help me.
I have a hip replacement and pelvis bone was repaired so if I did fall at home or in the garden I know there's a little red button I can call.
I miss it when I am outside shopping or visiting friends and family but there is still someone by me then.

I feel I must write to say how happy I am that I decided to get in touch with Helpline last year.
I now have a personal alarm button which I wear round my neck. It is neat and unobtrusive and also waterproof so one can use it in the bathroom.
Fortunately I have not had an emergency, but knowing your help is always at hand gives one a great sense of security.
I do a test call each month and it is always answered quickly and clearly.

I had been considering obtaining an alarm for quite a long time and was pleased when I received information from you in the guise of two very helpful gentlemen.
I decided to have a Helpline Personal Alarm because I am 81, independent and I live alone in a nice road with good neighbours but we tend to keep ourselves to ourselves.
A friend was sent home from hospital, and although she had several home aids' she did not have a personal alarm. She fell over, broke her hip, couldn't reach the telephone and was alone for quite a long time before a neighbour called.
The button and necklace' is easy to wear.
My brother in law, aged 86, lives alone, he is very impressed by my personal alarm and is likely to have one for himself.

The reason I decided to have a Helpline Personal Alarm for my husband Lionel was that after being 4 weeks in hospital with a fractured pelvic bone and after 8 weeks of physiotherapy which helped Lionel to be able to walk again using sticks, but being quite disabled, my daughter and I decided to have Helpline installed as although I do not go out too many times a week and my family not living nearby, it does give me peace of mind to know Lionel does have his Helpline Button, which of course I trust he will not need to use, except for calling in on his monthly check. I think it is a very great boon, to know also, that it can be used if Lionel should be in the garden: The distance the Helpline Button can be used from is indeed a comfort. The service providing personal security is welcome also and as Lionel has just said he does not think Helpline can be improved on as it covers everything! I must also say that we were recommended by members of Lionel's own family, who also use HELPLINE and also Lionel's occupational therapist.

Mother had started to fall after a knee operation and was unable to get up on her own. Knowing that at a push of a button assistance will be available both reassuring my mother as well as giving advice if needed. She wears the button around her neck at all times. On several occasions my mother has used the service after falling and requests that the operator contacts myself. They question her to establish exactly what the problem is, then promptly contact myself. On one occasion after falling, mother informed the operator that she was bleeding from a head injury but did not want medical assistance. Thankfully the operator contacted myself and emergency services, so when I got there they were already patching my mother up. Thankfully it was not too serious but I was also glad that the operator had called the paramedics because the situation looked a lot worse than it actually was. It was reassuring for everyone to have a professional on scene. I would like to take this opportunity to thank your staff for all the help and support you have given my mother. My family would recommend your services to anyone who found themselves in a similar situation. It makes it possible to stay in her own home on her own, as she wishes, knowing that help can be called at all times. Many thanks for all your help.

I fractured my knee cap. I live alone in the country. My son was insistent I had an Alarm and it has given him a great peace of mind. I have not had cause to use the button but I love having it in the bathroom with me so I could call on my neighbours by using my Helpline Alarm if necessary. It has given them peace of mind: I fell once, before I had the alarm and it was pure luck that my neighbour was in the garden having a cup of coffee. When I do the monthly test it gives me great confidence as they answer straight away and are cheery and efficient. Another advantage is if I thought anyone was breaking in, I could just press my button to summon help.

As my husband's health was deteriorating, my family suggested we move into a bungalow, near to my granddaughters, as my daughters live a distance away and I was finding difficulty sometimes coping with him. One girl is a nurse, which helps. They suggested I have a personal alarm, which would mean I could call for help if I fell or had an accident. Sadly my husband died, so I agreed. When Helpline telephoned me and offered to demonstrate the alarm, I accepted. A very friendly young lady came and showed me a small, light weight little button, which is connected to an alarm receiver. I wear the little red button around my neck now. It is so comfortable, I hardly know its there. If I need to call for help I press the button and very quickly, a very pleasant voice enquires if I need help. If so, they can alert my neighbours either side of my detached bungalow, who can come to my aid and let my family know. My daughters live some distance away but have peace of mind knowing that I am not alone. I can wear the alarm in the shower. It can also work if I am in the garden. Should any unwelcome callers come to my door or intruders I can press the alarm and a very pleasant clear voice will be heard from inside my home, giving the effect of someone nearby.Once a month I call Helpline and they know my alarm is working. I am very thankful for Helpline's very quick response. By mistake one day I set the alarm off, but the person who answered my call so quickly, showed how soon help would have arrived had I needed someone. I now feel much safer now.

I decided to have an alarm because I was widowed in 2009 and I have multiple sclerosis. My family live in different parts of the country and as I have fallen several times, they now have peace of mind because I have a Helpline Personal Alarm. The alarm is checked monthly: When I press the button my details come up on a screen at the Emergency Response Centre and the battery charge is checked. The staff at Helpline are helpful and friendly and I have no doubt that in the event of an emergency it would be dealt with appropriately.

I would like to share my experiences since my father has had a Helpline Personal Alarm. My father fell in his garden last year and did not have a personal alarm. He was lucky someone heard him shouting for help. In September of last year my brother and I decided we needed peace of mind if this was to happen again. Your representative was very helpful and sensitive to my father's needs. He explained thoroughly how the alarm worked in a simple language and carried out numerous tests with my father so that he too felt comfortable with it. Since my father has had the alarm we are always safe in the knowledge that if he should fall, he only has to press a button which is always around his neck and help will follow quickly. Helpline staff always answer the alarm tests promptly and clearly as I have carried out numerous tests to make sure the battery is ok. I would recommend Helpline to any person living at home who is frail and feels insecure on their feet.

In June 2009 I suffered a heart attack which has resulted in my not being as able as I would like due to the fact that I have only 30. working order. This, very much affected my husband's decision to seek a personal alarm system with which we have been very pleased. Especially when in late July of last year he called for your help to seek assistance for me when I lost consciousness when having lunch in the garden with the family. He certainly found your service extremely helpful and we are both now very aware of the sense of security it gives us by having the Helpline Alarm. My daughter also is pleased to know that we both wear the personal alarms as she is working and living in Wales. Walking from kitchen to garage on an icy, dark evening, only 5pm, I realised that should I fall I could be on the ground all night. I decided a Helpline Alarm was the answer to my worries. I feel much safer around my house and garden now and my children are very relieved that I have the alarm. The small button, ability to use in shower and range and protection, all very good. Because I live on my own, I was beginning to worry in case I fell down and could not reach a phone for help. I had heard of Helpline from other people so got in touch with them. The information they gave me was great; It is just a little button that you press if you need help. Even if you are in the garden and you can't hear them, you know that you are going to get help and you are safe. It has so many uses, not only if you fall, but provides personal security against intruders or unwelcome callers and much more. The first week I had the button I was in the garden putting in some cane bean sticks but one broke in half and the splinters went into my arm and slid under my skin. Within 15 minutes of pressing my button an ambulance car had arrived to take me to hospital - so yes I would recommend anyone having Helpline.

I feel I had to write and express my appreciation for your service. I haven't been a client for very long but twice this year I had occasion to ask for help from Helpline, and both times I had instant replies and help. I was taken ill in bed approx 2.30 early morning. The bedroom door was closed. I was afraid I wouldn't hear but when I pressed the button, I heard the man's voice clearly. He contacted my daughter, who arrived shortly after. Not only did he contact my daughter, but he rang me again to ask if he could be of further help. Having only recently heard about HELPLINE my wife and I were more than happy to learn more about it and we are so glad that we did. Your first visit to us was from a gentleman who explained everything so clearly and it was easy to understand. There was no doubt that this was what we needed. This was also something we could afford. The following day we had a visit from a very smart young lady who did all the paperwork and explained the technical side of things and installed a very neat alarm box. She also gave me my lanyard with its red button and a demonstration!I had a stroke almost two years ago and it has been difficult to cope when I was on my own, should my wife (now my carer) go out for an hour or so. Now HELPLINE has given me the confidence knowing help was only a red button away should I need it. The name HELPLINE should be more widely known and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone.

I decided to have the Helpline Alarm after I had two nasty falls, both culminating with broken bones. As I live alone I decided to join and I am so pleased I did. It has given me a great sense of safety knowing if I fall or feel really ill, or that I sense there is someone outside at night I can just press a button and help is at hand. Another plus is the fact that wherever you are, garden or house, the range of the alarm is very wide and will be heard up to 164 feet away extremely comforting! For all these reasons, and more, I am so very pleased I joined. Having no family and aged 82 it is wonderful to know that there is someone looking out for me at the press of a button. I can highly recommend Helpline for just being there at a time of any emergency which, in my case, takes the place of a family.
